Jesus the Christ – Pursuing Jesus as Lord

Born again Christians love Jesus. The name Jesus Christ often evokes a positive emotional response deep within us. It is commonly known that Jesus Christ is not Jesus’ first and last name, but refers to His name and His title. The title of Christ (the Greek for Messiah) refers to Jesus as the anointed one (literal meaning in Hebrew) and also refers to the anointing upon Him. Jesus pointed to this as He read from the scroll of Isaiah, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me…” (Luke 4:18).

As you read through the New Testament it adds a depth of spiritual understanding to be aware of the meaning of the anointed Jesus and his anointing. While reading you will notice Jesus is sometimes referred to as “Jesus Christ” and other times as “Christ Jesus.” It is easy to think they are just a different way of saying the same thing. This website is a study of the differences and the profound implications for our lives in these last days before the return of Jesus. Living in Jesus Christ means living with Jesus as Savior. You are born again into the Family of God; you have the right to use the Name of Jesus; you have your Salvation Package but with limited access to it; you live under grace, and so to be absent from the body is to be with the Lord, since heaven is our home. Living in Christ Jesus means living with Jesus as Lord. You are living in His Resurrection Power as you overcome carnality by walking in the Spirit, and having full access to your Salvation Package as you partner with God. Living in Christ means living in Him continuously (i.e., living with Him as Lord at all times); and it means you will be alive and remain at the Rapture to be caught up to be with Him forever. All the powerful Scriptures about all we can do in authority and power are referenced with Christ or Christ Jesus and are activated when we live with Jesus as Lord.
